Another job out of our ordinary…a sign for a business lobby!

We recently were commissioned to build a sign for an entry way of a San Francisco capital management company. Of course we jumped on the idea because it’s nice every now and then to have a job out of the ordinary! We built the entire sign out of aluminum with some painted surfaces and some brushed. We designed a mounting system to hang it to the wall exposing no hardware and keeping the sign perfectly level. For our first sign job, I think we did a fine job!

Trade show display for Kicker

We’ve been venturing out of the vehicle realm quite a few times this past year! We built this industrial themed display for Kicker to use to showcase their headphones and ear buds at this years Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas! Steering in the right direction for 2012

We get asked often about small jobs. Yep, we do those too! No job is too big or too small for us to handle!

We just completed a rack and pinion conversion for a 1953 Buick Special! The owner was tired of the extremely sloppy and inconsistent steering and wanted to update that portion without changing the entire front suspension clip. We located a rack and pinion and engineered all of the mounts and tie rods to give correct geometry with no bump steer while retaining the stock steering radius. The old car is now a blast to drive and steers real solid down the road.

The car has a lot of history as Mike’s Mom purchased the car in 1970 and the entire Milton family has grown up in the car! It was a great addition to the Car Crazy stage at SEMA and we were thrilled to be a part of it!

SEMA 2011 Change-Up

We’ve had a little change-up in the shop as far as SEMA projects go. We’ve decided to hold off on debuting the Denali at the show as there just isn’t enough time to do all the things we want to finish and to the quality that we’re striving for. We’ve decided not to show the truck until it is 100% completed! We are scheduled to make a formal debut at the Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona (more on that later).

We do have a project that we’re taking to SEMA this year though, the Mighty GTO Project we worked on years ago! Turns out the owner decided to just have us finish up all of the loose ends on it, just in time for SEMA! The ’66 GTO will be an outside feature vehicle for Kicker! OEM Terror to debut at SEMA 2011

Our OEM Terror 2008 GMC Denali project will debut at the 2011 SEMA show in Las Vegas! We will be a feature vehicle with AccuAir Suspension! If you’re at the show be sure to stop by and say “hi”! This has been a long term project for us and has countless modifications and details! Nearly all the parts on this car are one-off and custom made for this specific vehicle. Denali Project is off to paint!

After a couple years of steady work on the Denali we are building, the time has finally come to take it to the paint shop! Some of us never thought this day would come, but we can’t wait to see the progress of all of our panels become finished off and the project completed! Plans are for all of under hood panels to be body worked and sprayed in a complementing color, some pieces will first be powder coated for durability while driving. The outside of the vehicle will be straightened up better then stock and sprayed black again with an accenting graphic! I’ll try to sneak some photos while it’s there!

Sheet Metal Mania at the Shop!

It has been like sheet metal mania at the shop lately! Between bending stuff around on the brake, to rolling material around on the english wheel, and stamping and stretching things into shape in our pullmax, we’ve had a fun filled few months! We’ve re-shaped as many pieces on the Denali project that we can, while trying to keep a real clean, simple and almost OEM feel to it!
